My Story
Well, hello there. My name is Julianna Buongirno. I am a graduate of The Institute of Integrative Nutrition, where I received my certification as an Integrative Nutritional Health Coach. I also attended The School of Applied Functional Medicine where I minored in Functional Medicine. I recently graduated from Trinity School of Natural Health, where I obtained a certification in Natural Health. My specialties are Dietary, Behavioral Health, Peptide Therapies, GLP-1 injury/recovery, and Functional Nutrition. My passions are special needs and trauma recovery from the "yo-yo" diet syndrome. This includes eating disorders, food addiction, and emotional eating.
My story lies underneath all of that, since my family and I have been through it all. I am married with a blended family of 6. Dave (my husband), also known as "Big Bear"; David (my oldest); Joseph; DJ (my heart son); and Rebekah. They are all grown and live their lives the best way they can. Out of the 4 kids, one is Autistic with intellectual disability, epilepsy, and struggles with trauma and PTSD. While another deals with high-functioning PDD/NOS. I am also so blessed to have a 200-lb. in-home utility service dog that keeps me balanced and emotionally supported when days become chaotic and stressful. We all have those days. My story begins at birth with Hyperthyroidism (failure to thrive). By the time I was 11, I developed a seizure disorder that was finally diagnosed as Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy (tonic-clonic). Throughout my teenage years, I suffered from depression, an eating disorder, a learning disability, and inattentive ADD (now ADHD without the hyperactivity). After having my daughter, I was in a near-fatal car accident that later manifested chronic conditions such as Syringomyelia (a cyst in my spinal cord), Post-Traumatic Arthritis in my legs, and mental trauma from an eating disorder. Through my relationship with God and His grace, I was able to get through all these struggles and understand those who face the same concerns. Chronic disease is not easy, and my prayer for you is that you find the support you are looking for to feel heard, find answers, and not feel overlooked.
